Bev and I have season tickets to the Best of Broadway plays in San Francisco. Today we saw The Producers at the Orpheum theater.
Getting there was a challenge because there was a peace protest going on in addition to the St Patrick’s Day parade. But we got there on time and were pleasantly surprised to find out when we swapped tickets to change the weekend we were going, we ended up with front row seats in the Mezzanine.
For me the play started slowly, but after about 15-20 minutes I was getting into it. It seemed as if the actors were trying to do impressions of Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick – which was enjoyable but I wonder how it would have been if they had done their interpretation of the characters.
Was the play worth our time? Definitely.
Was it worth the money? Definitely.
