If you know me, you know I am a pretty big fan of the Foo Fighters and the death of Taylor Hawkins last March had a major impact to me.
Earlier this month The Foo Fighters hosted a benefit concert in London for him with the proceeds going to Music Support and Music Cares
It was 6 hours of non-stop music.
The highlights for me were (not in any order)
- Chrissie Hynde first with the Pretenders
- Chrissie Hynde then with Paul McCartney. Paul is 80 years old and I hope I look that great when I am 80
- Dave Grohl’s daughter Violet
- Roger Taylor and Brian May from Queen – part one and part two
- Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson from Rush
- James Gang with Joe Walsh
- Foo Fighters playing their songs with different drummers
- Nandi Bushell – pure happiness. She looked like she was having so much fun
- Roger Taylor’s son – Rufus
- and the final one – Taylor Hawkins’ son
There is another Benefit concert in LA on 9/27 at the Kia Forum.
